Lamb update

The Ewes are really looking big and we are expecting the first lambs on or around March 19th. With all the rain we have been focusing on their hooves, trying to keep them trimmed and clean. Joni really enjoys scraping sheep poop off the hooves just to check their condition.

What is a lot more fun, is trying to catch the sheep. Since our border collies are more show than go, Harold is the border collie and not a very good one. He is as fast as a 1976 GMC Palm Beach RV.
We eventually use the power of food to get them into a pen where we can make sure all the mom's to be, are healthy.

With all the rain, we have not fed them much hay as the pastures are still green. We move them every 7-10 days to make sure they are eating fresh, clean grass. If areas are too wet, we move them to higher ground where they can enjoy some dry lounging pastures.

Lamb pictures coming soon!
